Firewood Available: See "Firewood Suppliers" above!
With the warmer temperatures and the (potential) feeling of spring on the horizon, quite often next year's firewood supply is the last thing on your mind. But put some consideration into your needs for next year and get your orders in now. Doing so helps to maintain the supply chain during the spring and summer months, and takes the burden off the overloading the system in the fall. Some new additions have been made to the "Firewood Suppliers" section of our website. Get your firewood order in early and don't wait until the last minute!

October 28, 2022: Timber Harvesting Incentive Program
Incentive Program for Wood Cutters
In response to high fuel and operating costs, the Yukon Government has announced a Timber Harvest Incentive Program to help offset operating costs incurred by wood cutters and encourage supply distribution to market.
- The timber harvesting incentive offers $10 per cubic meter ($22.65/cord) harvested to registered Yukon commercial harvesting businesses for timber harvested between April 1, 2022 and March 31, 2023,
- This applies to fuelwood and saw logs.
- Stockpiled timber that was harvested before April 1, 2022 but sold within the timber harvesting incentive timeframe (between April 1, 2022 and March 31, 2023) is also eligible for the timber harvesting incentive.
- Sales receipts are required for the stockpiled wood volume to be eligible for the inventive.

Information for Timber Harvest Businesses
- You must have a valid Yukon corporate registration number.
- This is a positive incentive program to help offset your operating costs during these challenging times where all costs have been inflated due to fuel prices - take advantage of it.
- Understanding that forest operations are a business of scale and efficiency, the YWPA is continuing to work on identifying funding opportunities and a streamlined approach for capital investment for your businesses.
September 28, 2022: Yukon Government Announces Firewood Rebate
Firewood Rebate
Yukon Government has announced a new firewood rebate to provide financial relief for Yukoners buying firewood to heat their homes.
- The rebate is available to Yukon households and provides $50 for each cord of firewood purchased, to a maximum of 10 cords, to offset home heating costs.
- Applicants must submit a proof of delivery form signed by their firewood supplier when applying for the rebate.
- Rebate is available for firewood purchased between April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023.

Information for Firewood Suppliers
- The Firewood supplier must have a valid Yukon corporate registration number

Yukon Seniors (65+)
- Yukon Seniors over the age of 65 may also apply for the The Pioneer Utility Grant (PUG) which is in place to assist with the cost of heating their homes - including firewood.
